How I Work

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is grounded in empathy, clear structure, and the belief that therapy should meet you where you are. With kids, play therapy helps them express emotions naturally. With parents and adults, we focus on real strategies rooted in evidence-based practice.

Warm, patient, and deeply supportive. I create a calming environment where people feel truly heard. Kids often open up more easily with Shiloh by their side.

I work best with clients who…

Want genuine understanding, care about long-term change, and are ready to work collaboratively, whether that's a child, a parent seeking strategies, or a family navigating transitions.

In sessions, you can expect…

A compassionate, individualized approach tailored to your age, goals, and personality. And of course, Shiloh can join sessions to offer comfort, calm, and connection.

At Riverside Counseling and Psychiatry, Margaret works with clients from Ashburn, Leesburg, Sterling, and across Northern Virginia, and offers telehealth for patients throughout Virginia.
