How I Work

My Approach to Therapy

Therapy is not about being perfect. It is about becoming more attuned, aware, and empowered in your relationships and within yourself. Every session is tailored to your unique needs and goals.

Grounded, warm, and genuinely supportive. Kids feel safe opening up in their own way, teens feel heard without judgment, and couples appreciate having a calm and encouraging guide.

I work best with clients who…

Are ready to explore patterns with curiosity, whether that is a child struggling to manage big emotions or a couple learning new ways to connect. You simply need the willingness to show up honestly.

In sessions, you can expect…

A space that feels relational and reflective rather than rushed or clinical. With kids, I use developmentally appropriate strategies. With couples, we focus on communication patterns and strengthening emotional connection.

At Riverside Counseling and Psychiatry, Kim works with clients from Ashburn, Leesburg, Sterling, and across Northern Virginia, and offers telehealth for patients throughout Virginia.
