Michael Ellis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in child & adolescent psychotherapy. He provides counseling support to children and adults in a calm and professional manner. Michael offers marital & family therapy to couples and families seeking help & healing in personal relationships.
He has ten years of experience helping children in foster care and child protective services and four years of experience providing individual psychotherapy. Michael employs a holistic approach to counseling, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
He has been married seventeen years and is the father of five children; one with a common mental health disorder. Caring for a child with special needs has made him uniquely empathetic with child and adolescent clients.
Michael earned his Master’s Degree from West Virginia University. His prior counseling positions have included work with schools, county mental health services, and private practice. His previous work experiences include service as a pastor and a police officer. Together, these experiences enable him to connect with clients on a more personal basis.
Michael is currently available for telehealth (online) and in-person visits on Saturdays & Mondays. He serves clients ages 4- 59.
