Deirdre Streufert, a board certified National Certified Counselor, works with children, adolescents and adults on a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, and career related problems. Her approach is holistic in that she addresses the cognitive, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of clients. Deirdre uses play therapy techniques to help children prevent and resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development.
Deirdre obtained her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the George Washington University. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from James Madison University and has always had a passion for helping and serving others.
Prior to graduate school, Deirdre worked in the consulting industry for over seven years and had the opportunity to career coach and mentor employees. She also served as a career counselor for three years at Georgetown University, working with undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni on many aspects of the career development process, including career exploration, job searching, and networking.
Deirdre is a Counselor in Residency at Riverside, working under the supervision of Dan Towery, LPC. While her services are not reimbursable by medical insurance, she does offer a reduced fee for counseling services.
